International Shaolin Disciples convention 2018 - Day 2
The first International Shaolin Disciples convention was held in Shaolin last weekend, opened by Grandmaster Shi De Yang. Sifu David Greenland (Shi Xing Ao) attended by special invitation from Grandmaster Shi De Yang. A 3 day event to establish the International Shaolin Disciples committee.

Day 2 started in the Pergoda forest Shaolin Temple at the Pergoda of Great Grandmaster Shi Sui Xi. Grandmaster Shi De Yang led a buddhist blessing ceremony for the venerable great Grandmaster of sutras and the Pergoda forest trail walk, 3 laps of  the ancestral trail, walking with chan, chanting Amituofo. The trail walk led the disciples past the front of Great Grandmaster Shi Sui Xi's Pergoda giving each disciple an opportunity to give an individual blessing.


Next the Shaolin disciples then walked over to the Tablet forest for the unveiling of 3 new tablets.

An afternoon tea party back at the convention centre seen the election of the management team for the International Shaolin Disciples association.

After another epic dinner the show party started. The show was kicked off with an amazing Shaolin Kung Fu performance from the Martial Monks reserve team which set the stage for performances of Iron shirt Qigong, traditional Kung Fu forms, Dancing, singing, and a magical Tai Chi performance that was accompanied live music of the Guzheng (an ancient Chinese musical instrument).

International Shaolin Disciples convention 2018 - Day 1
The first International Shaolin Disciples convention was held in Shaolin last weekend, opened by Grandmaster Shi De Yang. Sifu David Greenland (Shi Xing Ao) attended by special invitation from Grandmaster Shi De Yang. A 3 day event to establish the International Shaolin Disciples committee.
Day 1 was a meeting of Shaolin disciples of Grandmaster Shi De Yang, the ancestral linage of the Shaolin temple (Venerable Shi Sui Xi). Shaolin martial arts is a family system. Disciples refer to their martial arts family as brother and sisters (senior and junior), uncles and aunties, and the much loved father of Shaolin's ancestral linage disciples, Grandmaster Shi De Yang. A genuine respect, care, and friendship as old and new friends came together.

 Granmaster Shi De Yang's opening speech congratulated the disciples on coming together for the convention, taking time from their families, jobs, and Martial Arts schools. Grandmaster Shi De Yang expressed the importance of kindness and wishes all disciples to lead the promotion of genuine kindness to all.

The official opening was followed by a group of Grandmaster Shi De Yang's students taking discipleship vows and becoming Shaolin disciples. Most of which were students as children but never had the opportunity to do so. 

After taking discipleship vows the students received their Dharma name of the 32nd generation Shaolin disciples Shi Xing NAME.

A very nice start to this momentous occasion. A collaboration of the 32nd generation Shaolin disciples of Grandmaster Shi De Yang (31st generation successor).
